Today's Gospel: John 3:16-21
In John 3:21 we read,
“ . . . whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.”
As Christians, we often hear that we are “a mirror reflecting God’s light.” But I disagree. We are not the reflection of God, for we are never perfect; rather we are an active prism through which He works. When we come to the Light and are struck by its intensity, we become part of the Light — it passes through us for others to see the many hues of God’s handiwork.
There is not just a reflection; there is not only one way that God manifests Himself in our fallen world. He becomes apparent through the unique refraction of His light in us.
Ponder:
What can I do to be more of a prism for God, from which others can see His varied hues of love?
Pray:
Heavenly Father, help me not to judge others whose light burns differently from my own.
