Today's Gospel: John 14:1-6

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is once again explaining Who He is and what He came to do. He is the fulfillment of the covenants God has made with mankind. The covenants with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and David. All find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ and His giving His life for us. But, He must explain it more than once to the twelve disciples. Here, at the Last Supper, He puts it in simple words.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

So simple but so deep. We are led to the Father by Jesus Christ.

Our most important job as mothers is a reflection of Jesus’ mission: We are to lead our little ones to God. We raise them in the Faith. We bring them to Mass. We model our Faith at home and in the world. We bring them to the Way and trust that He will lead them to the Father.

Ponder:

Do I lead my children to the Way?

Pray:

Dear Lord, help me to contemplate You as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Help me lead.
