Today's Gospel: John 16:12-15

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is preparing the disciples for His departure. But with His leaving, He assures them that they will not be alone for He is sending “The Advocate”—The Holy Spirit. Do you know that this promise applies to you as well? You have been sent an advocate who not only provides conviction but also comfort.

The goal of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to make us more like Christ, He does that through sanctification. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes to the Father on our behalf. What I love about the Holy Spirit is that He prays for us when we don’t know what to say. There are times when circumstances are too difficult and in times of prayer, we are speechless before God. That’s when the Holy Spirit steps in and helps us with our requests to God.

As mothers, we are confronted daily by thoughts such as, “What am I going to make for dinner?”, “How can I find time for daily prayer with my family?”, “Should I leave my career to raise my family?”, “Is God calling me to homeschool my children?”, and “Am I truly doing my best as a mom?” God wants to be present in all of motherhood’s small and large decisions. I encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit into your life through prayer. When you do, you will experience the peace that comes with His presence.

Ponder:

How will you invite the Holy Spirit to guide you throughout the vocation of motherhood?

Pray:

Dear Lord, I desire to glorify You with my life. I ask that You send Your Holy Spirit to guide me as I navigate my calling of motherhood. Help me to invite His counsel and comfort daily.
