Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Matthew 6:19-23

What is my treasure -- and what do I do with it? What light do I allow to shine? That's what Jesus asks us to consider today. It's all about our priorities.

These two little teachings are connected by a call to act. If we have treasure of any kind, we shouldn't hoard it. Treasure is useless unless we use it. By generously sharing our earthly treasures, we can gain treasure in Heaven--the kind of treasure that doesn't need to be kept behind locked doors or consumed before the expiration date.

Similarly, what light do we let in? What do we look at? If all the light we see is the blue light of a screen, we are filling up on something that may not be good for us. We need to be selective in what we take in with our senses: what we look at, what we hear, what we taste, touch, and smell.

When we allow Jesus to guide us in sharing our treasure and choosing what to take in, we open ourselves to shining Jesus' light for our families and all we encounter.

Ponder:

Do my priorities line up with God's priorities? Am I setting a good example for my family with the choices I make each day?

Pray:

Jesus, help me today to trust You more and rely less on the things of this world.
