Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.
Today's Gospel: Matthew 8:23-27
In today’s Gospel, the disciples climb into the fishing boat with Jesus and begin crossing the Sea of Galilee. Jesus falls sound asleep, but when a great storm appears without warning, they shake Him and wake Him, shouting, “We are perishing!” Before Jesus settles the wind and the waves, He scolds them, saying, "O you of little faith!” They come to know Him better and understand His unlimited power.
We’ve all experienced times like this, when things are going along swimmingly, and out of nowhere, some horrible danger or tragic event crashes in on the scene. Accidents happen. Sudden loss of employment comes as a shock. Serious health concerns demand our full attention.
Our lives are sprinkled with times of trial, sorrows, and sufferings, but Jesus is always only a prayer away. When things take a turn for the worse, He is waiting for us to ask for His help. Hang on tight and have faith as He calms the storm.
Ponder:
How can you get to know Jesus better? Do you have faith enough to “get into the boat” and follow Him?
Pray:
Save me, Lord. I am so overwhelmed sometimes with the responsibilities that come with my vocation. Keep me close! Increase my faith! Answer my prayers according to Your best plan for me.
