Reflect on how Jesus sees us as we truly are, inviting us to embrace faith and share His love in our daily lives.

Today's Gospel: John 1:45-51

Jesus sees us as we are. In today’s Gospel, Jesus sees Nathanael approaching and calls him a true Israelite. When Nathanael asks Jesus how He knows him, Jesus responds,

“Before Phillip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” John 1:48

When Nathanael understands that he is seen and known by Jesus, he surrenders his skepticism and believes.

It is wonderful to consider that Jesus sees all of us as we are and still loves us and chose to die for us. Our Lord can see beyond the face we show the world and knows us as tenderly as a mother knows her infant child. When we can respond to that knowing with faith, our world is opened up beyond the everyday to the transcendent reality of a life walking with Jesus. That is truly a beautiful way to live.

Ponder:

How can we ensure that we view our daily duties, joys, and struggles with faith?

Pray:

Dear God, help me to see opportunities to share Your love in my daily life and give me the courage and faith to make sharing that love my priority.

Pray Together:

As a family, discuss simple, concrete ways you can make a positive difference in others' lives as part of your daily routine.
