Today's Gospel: John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
"We know where he is from." - John 7:27
Did they really? They *think* they know where Jesus is from. They *think* they know who He is. They *think* they know what He is there to do. But they don't. Not really. They have their preconceived notions about the Messiah, their grand plans and their wishful thinking. Jesus doesn't look like the Messiah they expect. We know how the story ends, of course, but are we that different from the people of Jerusalem? Don't we have our own expectations of what Jesus will be, or do, for us? Aren't we trying to make Jesus fit the mold of our own imagining?
Ponder:
How can I let go of the expectations I have of Jesus and accept the Savior He truly is?
Pray:
Jesus, help me today to see beyond my own limited ideas and allow Your plan to work in my life.
