You know the best part of being here at CatholicMom.com? The zippy young moms I get to meet. Among the zippy fabs, count Jenna Hines, who you've seen here at CM a time or two.

Like so many of the moms I know, Jenna uses her energy to share herself. In her case, it's through the medium of blogging. Her personal blog is Call Her Happy (and it makes me happy to go there) and she's also the genius behind Viva the Blog.

Why did you start blogging?

I originally started blogging to keep family up-to-date on our first pregnancy. Then I started reading more blogs and found out how much more they could become. I was addicted. I wanted to be a part of that movement.

Why do you keep blogging? What's your inspiration to continue?

Comments are what keeps bloggers like me going. I love the interaction with other moms and women around the world. If I stopped blogging, I would forever be wondering what Lauren and Jen and Grace and Kelly and Dwija and all of my other blogging friends are up to. It's a community I love being a part of.

When you think of the New Evangelization as a Catholic blogger, what excites you? What makes you want to continue?

I think other Christian religions have a head start on using new media for evangelization. Whether it is books, talk radio, music, social media, or anything else, Protestants and the like have been extremely successful at drawing in followers through these mediums. I am excited to see the Catholic Church getting in on the action. When people say the church needs to get with the times, I shake my head no. But, when it comes to getting with New Evangelization, then I say a hearty yes!

What's the most rewarding aspect of your blogging?

I love being able to boil down tons and tons of information into usable tidbits for my Viva the Blog clients. I love when they are able to walk away with definite action items that they can use immediately. Most of all, I love when they have success after using something I was able to teach them. In my personal blogging, there is nothing more rewarding than receiving a comment that says, "Me too!" It's great to know I'm not the only crazy one.

In your spare time, what are we likely to find you doing?

I wish I could say that I find it easy to put down the screens, but it's hard for me. I stay at home, and despite my introverted nature, I still love to be connected to the adult world throughout the day. So my phone has become an extension of my arm. But, when I am able to pull away, I love to read and embroider. Anything peaceful.
