Here we are reflecting on John 3:16-21 again but not in the light of Lent, in the light of the Resurrection of Christ. Today’s Gospel reminds me that God gave his only Son for my salvation. As today’s Gospel states, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” I am filled with the love of Christ and ever so grateful that God sent his Son to save me. Without Christ I am lost.

What joy we continue to celebrate as we journey through this Easter Season. Each day we are reminded that Christ has risen. Christ has sent us the Holy Spirit to be with us as we journey throughout life, each day bringing us a step closer to spending eternity with God, the Father. How blessed we are.

Ponder:

Today, take a few moments to think about those who make sacrifices for you. Jesus is at the top of my list, but there are those who go unnoticed, those I neglect to say “thank you” to or to show my appreciation to. As this morning greets me, I greet it back with the intention to thank those who make sacrifices for me, those I often forget to notice and appreciate.

Pray:

Dear Lord, help me to remember the sacrifice you made for my salvation. Help me to show appreciation to those in my life who make sacrifices for me and to say “thank you” to them. Help me to keep your sacrifice close to my heart so I may go out into the world with an appreciation for the life you have given me and an appreciation for those around me.
