I had the pleasure to preview “In Mercy, He calls each of us by Name” by Brooke Taylor from the Faces of Mercy Catholic Conference 4 Moms. I had an open mind and hoped the topic would be applicable to someone like me, married over thirty years with adult children. My fallback stance is always that if it isn’t for me I can probably use it in my work! I’m thrilled to say that Brooke’s testimony is applicable to anyone who has a life!
Brooke is an engaging presenter, weaving her personal story with scripture to tell us why we can trust God and how we are called by name. As she began her testimony I found myself wondering where the story was leading; I’m glad I kept watching. Sorry to be so vague, but it’s much better to hear Brooke’s story from Brooke!
A few things said really resonated with me and where I am in my journey of faith and life right now. First, we are called to trust and obedience. We may not have at this moment the life we thought we would, but in our surrender to God it will become the life we are supposed to have. Next, know your mission field. Whatever your state in life, whatever your situation, embrace that mission field and work in it to your fullest capacity.
And last, but the one I will be pondering for days, there is an urgency in life so drink deeply of the cup you have been given. I’m just going to let that sink into your soul without comment.
Give yourself the gift of this conference. Watch it with your friends, your small group, your husband!
