CatholicMom.com's more than 125 volunteer writers were honored with a second-place finish in the Best Blog category of the Catholic Press Association's Gabriel Awards on June 20 at the Catholic Media Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Gabriel Awards honor excellence in Catholic film, video, audio, and internet.
This is the first time CatholicMom.com has competed for a Gabriel Award and the first year a blog category has been offered.
CatholicMom.com also placed first in the Best Blog category at the Catholic Press Association Awards, and the Catholic Momcast with Lisa Hendey and Danielle Bean placed second in the Best Podcast category.
Three episodes of Family Theater Productions' Catholic Central: The Mass, Catholic Dating, and Life After Life placed first in the Gabriel Awards Best Internet Video: Teen Specific category. Catholic Central: The Mass also placed second in the Gabriel Awards Best Internet Video category. Family Theater Productions was founded by Venerable Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., and is a partner ministry, along with CatholicMom.com and FamilyRosary.org, of Holy Cross Family Ministries.
