The Grand Opening, Dedication, and Blessing by Bishop da Cunha of Fall River will take place in September 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. Experience Design of Providence, RI provided the professional expertise to make this unique interactive Museum possible. The Museum of Family Prayer welcomes families and individuals to an immersive experience of family prayer beginning with Adam and Eve, moving through the Hebrew Scriptures of the Old Testament to the time of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the Apostles, then on to the early Christians praying the Psalms which evolve into the Rosary as the Gold Standard of Family Prayer. Focused on family prayer, the Museum is a tribute to Father Patrick Peyton, the American Apostle of Family Prayer and the Rosary. Tracing his life from birth in 1909 into a materially poor but spiritually rich family in County Mayo, Ireland. The Museum uses the latest technology to engage visitors in the dramatic life of Father Peyton from healing from a fatal prognosis, to spectacular radio and film productions in Hollywood, to huge Rosary Rallies around the globe. In the care of the Little Sisters of the Poor in San Pedro, CA, Father Peyton completed his physical life on earth, June 3, 1992, whispering, “Mary, My Queen, My Mother.” Not ending with Venerable Patrick Peyton’s earthly life, the Museum traces the progress of his Cause for Sainthood advancing to a declaration of Venerability on December 18, 2017 and hints at two further steps leading to recognition by the Church as The Saint for Family Prayer. Finally, the Museum demonstrates how Father Peyton’s mission to help families pray continues around the world under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
