Today's Gospel: John 3:7b-15

Today’s Gospel reading focuses on Jesus interacting with Nicodemus. In classic Jesus style, he teaches Nicodemus about the Holy Spirit and believing in things “that we do not see”. Nicodemus is a lot like you and me. We struggle often because we are not feeling “it” and we do not see what the Spirit is doing behind the scenes. But here is where we need to learn submission.

Submission is being a person of love and faith and being open to receiving what the Lord wishes to give us. When we submit fully to the Holy Spirit, we will be walking in obedience to God’s will for our life. We will become less focused on doubting what God is doing behind the scenes, and more focused on trusting the process of our spiritual formation.

Ponder:

How will you practice a heart of belief in God’s plan in a world of distractions?

Pray:

Jesus, we need You! Help us be more like You and decrease, so You can increase. Amen!
