Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Matthew 7:7-12

My daughter is only five months old, and if you are a parent, you might remember what those infant days looked like for you. Most of our days are spent playing, nursing, and exploring. But sometimes she cries, and I don’t know why.

Although I try to enjoy every season God has me in, the crying makes me long for the day that she can talk and ask for help. If she could tell me what she needed, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to try and comfort her.

God feels this way about us. How often do we go to others or avoid God when we are hurting or in need? In today’s Gospel, we can reflect on one of God’s many promises. When we ask Him, we will receive good things. This does not mean we will get everything we want. But it does mean that we will be getting what God considers good for us and that is truly all we need.

Ponder:

How can we begin to believe that what God considers good for us is actually what is best for us?

Pray:

God, posture my heart to go to You first. Help me to seek You daily so that I can find You more in my everyday life.
