Today's Gospel: Luke 9:11b-17
Have you ever stared at your bank account and wondered how you were going to get through the month? It’s too common for our family. It’s even worse when a water heater breaks or an unexpected expense like a medical bill happens. We stress, we fret, we worry how it’s all going to work out. Two words get my husband and me through: God provides.
He does provide. He always provides. I’ve had people ask me how I do it with three kids and freelancing. I have no answer. Somehow it works; somehow God provides. I go through the motions and do the things, all the things I can . . . but I always feel I come up short. Yet, God provides.
He always does. I lay it down at His feet. I do my part as far as it takes me and I leave the rest to Him. I can’t say I don’t worry (because I’m so good at worrying) but I eventually just have to trust Him. He has never let me down. Even when I don’t like the answers or the new crazy that enters my life or the bad news, He always gets me through.
My life is filled with fishes and loaves. I just need to ask His blessing and let Him do the rest. Day by day, week by week, and so on, we get through because God provides.
Ponder:
Am I trusting Him daily and letting God provide His blessing in His time?
Pray:
Lord, You have never forsaken me. Calm my worried heart and help me to trust You as You guide me through my troubles.
