Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Luke 11:15-26

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house.”

God isn’t after division, and that’s something I need to remember time after time. There are many different opinions and viewpoints, life experiences and personal burdens. Each of us is journeying through life with things hidden from those around us.

It becomes all too easy to see what’s different, what’s other, what’s weird and “wrong” in someone else. It’s as easy, so often, as focusing on the negative and being a pessimist.

Jesus invites us to something different. He invites us to Himself, to be part of something that’s not just more, but something that is ALL.

Being part of the Body of Christ isn’t easy.

As someone who has struggled—with faith, in particular—the greatest foundation has been the example and support of Jesus’ own mother, Mary. Through the Rosary, I’ve found a lifeline. Even in my darkest times—maybe especially in my darkest times—I can hold on, holding my breath and knowing that there is hope.

I may not know what the hope is for, but I know it’s there. The Rosary has kept me from division in ways large and small, and it has encircled me when I am just not sure. When I’m in the throes of asking “Why?!?” and struggling with the lack of logic in what I see of the world, it’s the Rosary that I grab.

Jesus provides a reminder in today's Gospel:

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

May the rosary continue to draw us closer, bead by bead, to the stronghold of kingdom of God.

Ponder:

How can you draw closer to the kingdom of God today? What small act of faith can help you?

Pray:

Our Lady of the Rosary, you provided a weapon for us in the battles we face, no matter the size. Walk with us and point us to your Son, today and always.
