Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Luke 13:18-21

The Kingdom of God is a place that God has prepared for everyone. Like the mustard seed, which produced a tree fit for the birds of the air, God has prepared a place perfectly fit for His children. Jesus uses parables to teach us that the presence of God in our lives blossoms the more we pay attention to it.

God places the seed into our hearts and waits patiently and with love for our response. Sometimes, the seed comes alive through an unexplained circumstance or life-changing event. Life's storms have a way of awakening our minds and hearts to God’s presence, and in these times, we seek Him. Daily and consistent prayer provides nourishment, and in time, our faith matures. No matter the depth, size, or amount of time it takes for our seed to produce fruit, God’s intention is the same for all of us: to know and love Jesus.

We have all heard of “pay it forward,” a simple act of kindness that goes a long way. When we participate in goodness towards others, we hold the Kingdom of God in our heart. Sharing a small measure of the fruit produced through our relationship with Jesus enables God’s Kingdom to grow. Also, ministering to others in small ways has a high volume of fruit when Jesus enters their lives.

Ponder:

Jesus uses common objects to compare with the Kingdom of God. What ordinary ways might I compare to God’s presence in my life?

Pray:

Loving God, help me to see and nurture the seeds of transformation that You have placed within me. Give me the desire to acknowledge these fruits and share them with others in small and big ways.
