Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.
Today's Gospel: John 1:1-18
Today is a day of utter joy as we celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. We read from the first chapter of John, beginning with the Word.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be.”
Jesus is the light of the world piercing through the darkness.
We have journeyed through Advent awaiting this day, and the celebration is here as we begin the Octave of Christmas. As Catholic mothers, we can teach our children that the beauty of Christmas continues.
When children understand the real meaning of Christmas, there is no disappointment or letdown once Christmas day is over. Our kids can be taught to spread the joy of Christmas throughout the season, and this is reason to celebrate. The jubilation spreads to others, making Christmas not just a day but a full season of peace and joy.
Let us take the lessons of Advent and continue to live them each day. Living in the peace of Christ, we can live lives of sacrificial joy as people of faith and good will.
Ponder:
Lord, how can I best continue to live Christmas joy during this season and beyond?
Pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Yourself to the world. I pray that at this very moment the whole world will rejoice in Your love.
