Five simple soup recipes for your Good Friday supper.
Every year our parish hosts a Good Friday Soup and Bread Supper. It begins immediately after the 3 PM Good Friday service, and those who attend are welcome to stay until that evening's Living Stations of the Cross presentation.
Parishioners sign up to bring a crockpot of meatless soup, and each family that attends the dinner is asked to bring bread, rolls, or crackers to share. There's even someone waiting in the parish center before the Good Friday service, so families can drop off their soup or bread and then head over to church.
